About Us

Clarity Singapore is a mental health charity that empowers persons with mental health issues to lead meaningful lives through support, acceptance and recovery.

We understand that every individual has different mental health needs and to serve these varying needs, we offer services, such as one-on-one individualised therapy sessions, group programmes, psycho-educational workshops/talks, collaborations with community and corporate partners and social media outreach engagements.

Through our services, we aim to help individuals from all walks of life, regardless of race, religion or culture, who are struggling with mental health conditions arising from anxiety and depression, which include trauma, pre and post-natal stress, bereavement and loss, relationship and other emotional issues.

We are one of 28 Member Organisations tasked with a social mission for the church and a company limited by guarantee with IPC status. We are a member of the National Council of Social Services (NCSS) and work with partners like the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC), Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) THRIVE and the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) to deliver mental health interventions to the community.

Executive Director
Anne Pillai
Anne joined Clarity in March 2022. Prior to this Anne lived in Malaysia where she worked with various organisations that support children, youth, women, and families. Anne is a counsellor registered with the Australian Counselling Association and is a founding team member of the only Child helpline in Malaysia, Buddy Bear. She is also a member of the National Coalition for Mental Wellbeing in Malaysia and PERKAMA (International Counselling Association Malaysia). Prior to her career switch to social services, Anne worked with various corporations and has an MBA. She was with Starhub for 5 years as the Quality Service and Audit Manager.
Finance and Human Resources
Agnes Siow
Agnes, who joined Clarity Singapore in February 2024, brings extensive experience in Finance and Human Resources. She has nearly 30 years of experience working for both commercial and non-profit organisations. This is her eighth year in the non-profit sector. She is responsible for Clarity Singapore's finances and human resources, ensuring that the governance guidelines are followed. She hopes to maintain Clarity's stringent compliance on governance standards, as well as continuous improvements to the HR and Finance policies and processes.
Intervention
Denise Lim
Denise is a clinical psychologist, with about 10 years of experience working with adults with mental health conditions, across various settings. These include community mental health, public healthcare, and forensic settings. She was a therapist at Clarity Singapore between 2016 to 2018, and has returned to lead the Intervention Team in 2023. She has an interest in working with adults who have difficulties coping with their emotions. Additionally, Denise is passionate in developing younger clinical psychologists through clinical supervision and training, as well as raising the general public's mental health literacy, through the delivery of talks.
Intervention
Tan Ming Chin
Ming Chin has been a clinical supervisor and mental health counsellor with Clarity Singapore since April 2021, with more than 10 years of field experience. She has various qualifications in the work of trauma and is registered with the EMDR International Association. She is also a Professional Member of the OCD Network SG, and an Ex/RP therapist with the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety, CTSA (a world-class treatment and research facility). Ming Chin works with the intervention team in supporting professional development, keeping therapy processes robust within the organisation, and garnering the most recent research developments in mental health.
Intervention Programme
Amelia Phang
Amelia joined Clarity Singapore in December 2023, offering her unique background in both community leadership and mental health support. In her time with Singapore's South East Community Development Council, Amelia worked alongside District Councillors and community partners to aggregate local needs and resources. She then joined the Institute of Mental Health where she managed the Assessment & Shared Care Team programme. With a Master in Counselling and Bachelor in Psychology, Amelia specialised for 4 years as an addictions counsellor at the National Addictions Management Service, and was a volunteer counsellor for troubled youth. She now manages partnerships for Clarity as the Service Lead and coordinates resources to serve the mental health needs of the community, while serving as a therapist.
